Not 10th, but under 10

I did the Zooma Annapolis 10K today. Much to MeiLin's chagrin, I did not come in 10th as she thought was my goal. Rather, I did hit my goal of under 10 min mile pace -- 9:47 although I swore I felt faster. It was raining, but 3000 people, mostly gals, came to run. Annapolis looked beautiful from what I could see, but hilly. I accomplished my goal and learned that I need to lay down a better base if I am going to make that Olympic tri in September.

To live in a small town or anywhere in Europe...

I would definitely order this: one of the newest, coolest bikes on the market, a Madsen Cycle with a bucket! A bucket that has seats and holds 600 lbs. Kids, beach stuff, dog, school stuff, scooters--just think of what you can fit in.

Of course, I'm not sure about actually having the biking legs to pull 600 lbs around...

Yes

Do you love those times in your life when you wake up a bit, clean house and kick yourself into gear. Yes, it feels good to lighten the load. Yes, it feels awesome to get out and exercise regularly -- why didn't I do that before? Yes, it feels great to organize the garage so we can get bikes in and out without tripping over the trashcan, recyclables and a few odd boxes. Yes, yes, yes, it feels joyful to be back reading--the Word, good writers, poems. Why do I lose focus and wander off to things that don't matter and dusty corners cluttered with junk?

I don't know. I hope this new clearspacerejuvenationfeeling stays with me for awhile.

What in the galaxy?

A new experience: a classmate in MeiLin's first grade being suspended for two days for giving another boy "the finger."

As Star Wars-crazy MeiLin said, "what in the galaxy does that mean, Mom?"

Gotta love those daily surprises.

To Mom - We Love You!

Mom, for you...you are beyond words wonderful. Happy Mother's Day.
